Dear Crafters,
After over 5 years of managing Craft Network, I am at a crossroads. I have loved learning about so many wonderful and talented artists. However, this website has been a labor of love. I have been running the site at a loss and I need to either sell or revamp the site.
I originally created Craft Network because I saw two needs:
1. The need for small crafters, like myself, to display thier art.
2. The need for small crafters to find supplies for their craft.
Out of those basic needs, I discovered other avenues, such as buddies and craft fairs. Listing craft fairs for 50 states became too cumbersome and that ended last year.
I added links to sites that would bring in revenue when visitors clicked on them. However, they have not advanced my efforts to keep the website afloat, let alone create a profit.
Sadly, a lot of my time is taken up reviewing submissions that turn out to be spam. It takes away from the whole enjoyment of the website. One of the casualties of this spam will be my bravenet free ads link. That will be disappearing this month.
Please note that there will be other changes coming to the site. I would love to continue hosting Craft Network. However, I will need help from crafters like you to keep the site running.
During this transitional time, I will not be reviewing websites that are submitted for posting. I will however still post on buddies and the wanted site.
