Dear Crafters,
I originally created Craft Network because I saw two needs:
1. The need for small crafters, like myself, to display thier art.
2. The need for small crafters to find supplies for their craft.
After over 6 years of managing Craft Network, I am at a crossroads. I have loved learning about so many wonderful and talented artists. However, this website has been a labor of love. I have been running the site at a loss and I need to either sell or revamp the site. At this time, I am am choosing to try to revamp the site. If my efforts do not provide improvements in my cost/loss, I will discontinue the site in 2009.
I added links to sites that would bring in revenue when visitors clicked on them. However, they have not advanced my efforts to keep the website afloat, let alone create a profit. In order to keep from going more in the red and closing Craft Network, I will have to begin requesting donations to post your Web site on Craft Network. (If your site is already listed, I would appreciate it if you could provide a donation. It is not required though.) I will also have a fee for banner ads. (If you already have a banner ad posted, I am allowing it to continue on the site for free until September 30th, by this time, I will contact you regarding fees to continue.) The fees take effect on of August 5, 2008.
Sadly, a lot of my time is taken up reviewing submissions that turn out to be spam. It takes away from the whole enjoyment of the website.
Please note that there will be other changes coming to the site. I would love to continue hosting Craft Network. However, I will need help from crafters like you to keep the site running.
During this transitional time, I will not be reviewing websites that are submitted for posting. I will however still post on buddies and the wanted site.
